the shark. the man who wrote the notorious sitcom in u.s. history, or episode i should say, defends what he did with the fawns. maybe she's right. the show starts right now. well, apparently the president thinks if we keep printing money we don't have, ignore the ongoing extraction that's plaguing our country, eventually the economy will turn around. forget fixing the system that keeps all the capital with the select few who gamble it or incentivize those with capital to take it out of the country? why would you do that? call it free trade. the president's latest proposal, i should say, a spending tree of $50 on new infrastructure spending. now that we don't need the infrastructure, it's interesting to spend the money we don't have while you leave a giant hole in the bucket seeping out of the country. the president's plan to rebuild 150,000 miles of roads, 4,000 miles of rail line. critics lining up calling the president's plan an ineffective one that will plunge us further into debt. of course, the republicans no more ready to address our real problems, just happy to take the job of screwi

months ago this week, a top to bottom overhaul of u.s. health care, an overhaul that presidents dating back to teddy roosevelt have contemplated, debated, or attempted. six months ago, it was sign into law by president obama. today as you may have seen live here on cnn, the president talking about provisions of that law that come into force this week. this is the first of that health care bill. it's what the white house calls a patients' bill of rights. he's just about the only democrat who is going to use health and reform in the same sentence because the reason has to do with the calendar. we're 40 days away from the elections where every single house seat and 37 senate seats are up for grabs. voters are split to say the least. 40% of americans favor reform, 56% oppose it. there are some tricks to that poll because the 56% oppose, some oppose because it didn't go far enough. most say it's too liberal, but a sizable chunk says it doesn't go far enough. when we ask which party can handle the issue better, it's a dead heat. all of this forms a backdrop to the president's visit to a fami

us different than those who attacked us. so here was an alleged pastor that i don't know anyone who even knows him, with a small congregation, and he's going to set up more flames of hate and violence. really a slap in the face of jesus, who never would have done this. and i've been pleased with the unity of the faith community in responding to him. across the board. my favorite is the massachusetts bible society has said they will give away two copies of the koran for every copy that he was going to burn to people in prisons or shelters or hospitals, muslims who don't have their text. that's the kind of response christians ought to make. so i'm glad that he says he's called this off. the imam will meet with anybody who wants to talk to him, but this is something that was really an example of the extremes controlling our public discourse. the faith community is united against this, but the extremes shake this conversation. and we have to look at that. >> ri said to me what is remarkable is how quickly you have seen the political coalescing around this, we're showing some of the face
